Summary: I just bought this yesterday, and copied some very important files to take with me to the office today. As I copied the files from my hard drive to the flash drive, the status bar showed everything working fine. Well, I got to work this morning and plugged it in ... urrrgghhh ... the file names and folders are there, but over half of the files are file size "zero" meaning they didn't copy correctly. Here I am forty miles from home with a bunch of useless files. I am HOPING that this is an isolated incident, otherwise I would have given this thing a "1" rating right off the bat. Regardless, it was not up to task on it's first outing and I'm up the proverbial creek without a paddle until I get home this evening.
Updated
Okay, for those of you who read my review yesterday this is a followup. I went home last night and re-copied my files to the Sandisk Mini Cruzer. This time I double checked to make sure that all files registered and had content - they did. Sooo, I get to work today and attempt to download the files to my computer. Not once, but twice it froze up my computer to the point where I had to do a hard restart. I'm taking this hunk of junk back to the store on the way home tonight. I have had good luck with other Sandisk products, but this "piece" needs to go back to the drawing board. Two days of non-productivity thanks to this worthless thing. Sorry Sandisk, I'm buying another brand.Updated
So I stopped by the electronics store on the way home with the intent of returning my Sandisk Cruzer. Because I have faith in Sandisk products from previous experiences with them, I opted to exchange instead hoping that this unit was simply defective. Fingers crossed, the replacement unit seems to be up to task. No problems to this point. I think I may have purchased a defective unit, and am honorable enough to eat crow on this public forum. I still give it a five rating, though, until it can prove otherwise.8 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.

Concerned it may not work at first, but then...

Pros: Small and lightweight, but feels sturdy. On the 2.0 USB port it is very fast. Reasonable price.
Cons: Issues with getting it to work with Windows 98SE.

Summary: This drive was all I needed for my application. I wanted to move many gigabytes of pictures from my old Windows 98 system to my new XP system. I knew I needed to download a driver from the Sandisk site for the Mini Cruzer to work on my Windows 98SE system before I bought it. When I got it home, I went to the site and to my dismay the driver was not there. I called SanDisk with my concern and they immediately made the driver available on their site for me. Their tech support was very curtious and helpful and said to call back it I had any problems. Well, after installing the driver I still could not get the drive to work so I called tech support back. They determined that I had a conflict with one of my CD creating drivers and helped me to go to the appropriate site to install a fix. After rebooting and reinserting the Cruzer Mini it worked. I was impressed with the tech support I received for a product that only cost $49 from Costco. The drive successfuly transferred all of my pictures to my new XP system without a single problem. I love the product and the tech support I received.

Plug & Play?? HARDLY!!
Pros: NONE....can't get the thing to be recognized by any PC....Windows XP or 2000. We followed all the troubleshooting guidelines and contacted tech support, but to no avail.
Cons: PC won't recognize the drive. The PC knows the drive is there, but nothing shows up in Windows Explorer when you want to use the thing. Taking it back!! What a pain!

Summary: In more than two years of using this flash drive on computers all over the world, including more than one laptop and assorted PCs in hotels and airports, I have never, ever had a problem with it. I simply drag and drop my spreadsheets, programs, presentations, speeches, or powerpoints back-and-forth from the disk to the computer, or run the program from the disk itself. No problem. The only reason I came on CNET today was to buy another one.

Pros: Size and speed
Cons: the perftct drive
Summary: I own several of these drives and I love them. They are very portable, and much better than a zip disk. I wish that digital cameras would support these drives!

Summary: Does what it is supposed to do. Can't say I notice that it's slow, but I don't have anything other than another SanDisk product by which to compare. Feels solidly constucted, but it may be easy to lose one of the plastic USB plug covers. I haven't lost one yet, but I can see how it would be such.
Bottom line: it's a flash-based storage device. What more do you really want it to do beyond storing stuff? -
not bad, not bad...

Pros: solid plastic casing, like the little light, its small, comes wif a necklace, and...uhh...
Cons: writing on it rubs off very quickley, loose the tops real quick (at least i do, but, i guess thats why they give u three of them), envcryption isn't all that great , thats all i can fit.

Summary: i think i am going to upgrade to the 3 or 4 gb titaniam one, but am afraid to because of all the bad stories about static electricity wiping out all ur data. anyway, its ok. but be carful when using it in a laptop or desktop where it will stick out, u might bend the thing if you push it (i did, but i bent it back). if this is ur first usb flash drive, then i would recommend it. if you are using it for pictures and music and stuff, get the 1gb at least but if u r using it for word, excel, or publisher files, or anything like that, get the 512mb or something.

Summary: Dont think I'm writing a bad review because I'm stupid and broke this usb drive. This product has failed on me three seperate times. I've allready gotten 2 warantee replacements, for the two other times it failed and ruined my day/week/month.
the first time i thought i did something wrong, maybe i was too rough on it or i didn't eject it. Second time i thought was a component failure cause it showed up as a 0 byte drive. This time there is no reason for it to have failed.
If you want reliable go somewhere else! -

Summary: Has worked perfectly ever since I purchased it about 8 months ago. Never failed, fast, convenient. I run programs that I've installed onto the drive all the time. The included programs were pretty sparse, and not useful. Probably would have like them to be not included at all b/c they made it a disappointing experience.

Summary: This has been a fairly good flash drive for me. It isn't very fast, but it holds a lot and works consistantly. After keeping it with me for a few weeks, the plastic caps for the end did crack and break, and I hear a rattle in the thin plastic case. It still works fine however. I would recommend this as a good first flash drive.
