Summary: I have owned several usb drives and none have performed as well as this one. I just put it through an entire wash cycle (by accident of course) and it still works just fine. I also ran it over with a car to test whether the 2000lb crush weight was actually true - it was.
I highly recommend this usb key to anyone who needs something durable, rugged, and plan on keeping for a long time to come.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I find it funny that I am writing a review on a friggen flash drive. But it is a great sturdy unit, and without a cap. I always lose caps to flash drives, and this flash drive had no cap and is made of sturdy metal. Perfect for haning on a keychain, as I do. I love this fact that it is metal and has no cap so it can take the banging around in your pocket with all your keys while preventing scratches qite well, and without the worry of the cap falling off and getting lost. Fingerprints show, but who really cares? Buy one, if you want a nice flash drive for an excellent price.

Works great; not afraid to throw it around a little.

Summary: I have the 2GB version of this and it works great. Too many people only post reviews when they have problems, but those are an exception. Overall, I've had no problems with this device. Not having to worry about a cap that will be lost, and knowing it is so durable allows me not to worry about putting important files on the drive.

I really liked this product when I first had it, but a couple weeks ago it broke!
There are 3 main components to this flash drive. The flash memory on the inside, and two pieces of metal on the outside. While the metal itself is strong, they're not held together well. My drive split.
All that's holding this thing together is a thin bead of glue. Some of you may not be too familiar with this, but its REALLY hard to bond metal to metal with just glue. So mine broke, and I'm ticked off.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I have 2 of these drives. One of them has had issues mounting since day 1 and it appears to be getting worse. I used to be able to pull it out and insert it again until it would mount. Now it is only recognized it I plug it into a little hub. Other people seem to have had this issue. Most likely a manufacturing flaw, since my other one works fine.

Summary: I went through a few thumb drives before buying the Titanium. The Lexar products are garbage and I'll never buy another. Finally got tired of caps that come off too easily or get lost and saw the Titanium had a slider. The Titanium is the best. It survives everything (pay no attention to people who bend the USB head while it's extended and then complain that the product is flimsy... please people, these are computer products, not taffy) and there is no cap to lose. I can't wait for the 2GB model. Great product, SanDisk.

Nearly perfect product
by SkyeW4 on April 29, 2005
Pros: Extremely durable, functional, quick data transfer, very easy to use, nice shape and size

Summary: This is very nearly a perfect USB flash drive, in my opinion. When you consider the amount of storage you are receiving and factor in the features, the Cruzer Titanium is a great value. The titanium coating on this sucker is no gimmick - this product was made to be carried around, thrown, dropped on the ground, etc. It's nice to look at also but the coating will scratch, especially if you choose to slide the clip attachment onto it. However, the point of this product is to be durable and the scratches aren't a concern for me. The sliding USB interface feature is very convenient and smart. It protects the interface when not in use. I did find that the button that you use to slide it with your thumb can be a little difficult to push. You almost have to use your fingernail at times to get it to slide. After a couple days using it, I got used to it and it's no longer an issue. If you have a thick keyring, it probably won't fit onto the ring that's built into the casing. I have to admit that the blue flashing LED was a nice surprise - it wasn't one of the reasons I bought this item but it is neat to watch when you're transferring data. The CNET review of this product mentioned that the drive is small but I think it's the perfect size. Any smaller and it becomes difficult to handle. I highly recommend this product and I'm considering getting the 1 gb version now that it's out...

Summary: I use it daily. It is durable and is attached to my car keys. It is great to have it available. The extendable USB works great. Initially, I was concerned, but after 9 months of using, I am still happy with it.
From a data security standpoint, I don’t have to worry about losing it due to the onboard encryption program. I am happy with the 512 SanDisk Cruzer Titanium and am looking at purchasing the 1Gig model1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
