Suction suction suction
by optofonik on July 22, 2010
Pros: Suction. Inexpensive. Light. Almost feels self propelled (it's not). Not too wide or too narrow path. Great on hard floor despite no neutral for beater brush. Retractable cord. Not overloaded with extra tools you'll never use. Did I mention suction?
Cons: No neutral for the beater brush when using tools. No headlight.

Summary: There's one reason you buy a vacuum cleaner: to suck up dirt. The suction on the Windtunnel Rewind is crazy good; its a powerful enough to suck up area rugs if not careful near the the fringes, curtains that drape to the baseboard, bed linens hanging too close to the floor, small animals and crawling toddlers. If you've just moved in and have been hanging things on the walls be careful that you haven't dropped any small pieces of hardware like screws or brads because the vacuum will suck them right up with everything else and the damage done may spell the end of you're hoovering happiness. Hoover has the reputation for QC so I'll skip the obvious and just say it's built solid.
That would be "They're". The ability to edit an existing post within a reasonable amount of time is considered pretty basic stuff but C-Net doesn't have it. Makes no sense.
I pulled an area rug that was once used in a band rehearsal space out of storage after 6 years and hoovered it with the Windtunnel Rewind and the difference is vast. No, I can't say "It looks brand new again!", but I can say that it now looks like it's worth doing some spot cleaning to get it there. The amount of detritus in the canister after hoovering was shocking. Its amazing what six years in storage (and just as many neglected under a band's feet) can do to a rug.
Their called vacuums for a reason and suction is the yardstick by which they are judged and any more suction than this would surely be an OSHA violation. This is a vacuum for people who don't feel the need to impress the dust mites with their ability to spend stupid sums of money on their housecleaning tools. For a hundred bucks you can't do better. Besides, why would anyone want to "vacuum" when one can "hoover" and you can only call it "hoovering" if you own a genuine Hoover. ;)

too expensive, cheaply made, clogs all the time
by MooseMD on August 23, 2012
Pros: the filter can be washed
Cons: parts break off constantly all over this vacuum, the price is way too high for what you get, it clogs constanly even if you keep the dirt dumped and the filter washed, it does not pick up all that great even when it is completely cleaned out
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, do not let the Hoover name fool you. We wasted our money on a pile of crap!

I Really wish that I would have known....horrible!
by Bodnar_Murphy on December 26, 2011
Pros: Lightweight and retractable Chord
Cons: Maintenance, filterless causes way too many problems, positioning of hoses causes quick clogs, if you like spending hours trying to figure out what area may be clogged you will love this

Summary: DO NOT PURCHASE! At first I was over the moon with the suction strength and ease of cleaning...after two or so months, this vacuum has been a major hassle. I am the owner of a Kirby, and bought this vaccum for my everyday quick cleaning, But it is such a pain in my booty. It constantly shows "red" on the indicator light...which means clogged and I've had it blown out and serviced twice ( just for clogs) cause even after complete cleaning from me was still registering clogged....no suction whatsoever! I hate this stupid thing and would much rather lug around y heavy Kirby all day! You are wasting your money on this model!

Buy ANYTHING else!
by mark_peter on August 12, 2011
Pros: virtually none.
Cons: Plastic. Poorly designed. Belt breaks constanly. Vaccum over heats and then shut off (less than 5 minutes today... after I spent the time replacing the belt... which had broken... again). Do NOT go to an "authorized" repair facility... another waste of m
Summary: Buy something else. It is just not worth it... seems like some folks like theres, maybe I got a lemon... but if so, quality control issues are major.
