Pros: Excellent set of features, Very smooth, intuitive menu system. Microsoft EPG worked perfectly (Could rank a 9 there)
Cons: Picture quality not really up to par for TV-watching, and mine could fry an egg on it (Rank that a 2)

Summary: This thing looks beautiful. Has a great set of features and inputs. Even with the odd switch on the back that swaps between Composite interlaced video and component progressive inputs (this was why some people reviewed this saying that the picture was black and white, you have to hit the switch to enable 480p when using component input). Short of that the menu system is great in comparision to my Panasonic DMR-EH20 or DMR-EH50. It's smooth, fluid, intuitive. Quick to understand. The Microsoft TV Program guide worked flawlessly on my setup. Actually had two weeks worth of shows downloaded and did it all in under 20 minutes with my fast cable connection...
But now the bad news, when watching TV, picture quality isn't that good. Everything's a little red in tone and a little fuzzy (you notice this more on large TVs, especially a 52' DLP). Recording shows is simple, but once you set to record to the hard drive at a certain quality, you can't change (lower) this quality when dubbing to DVD. You have to set a program to record to HDD at EP in order to dub it to DVD at EP. And then the most horrible thing, could just be I had a unit, but mine was BURNING HOT. You couldn't put your hand to it unless you blocked out the pain. Not hot enough to burn, but hot enough to know something's definetly WRONG. Unit told me that itself in the status menu, it was close to water-boiling temperature. So, despite the good, it was all out weighed by the bad. A Shame, it's a great price with great features, but not quite there in terms of build quality from what I experienced.
