The good: DVD player with wireless headphones; backup warning; Bluetooth phone connection.
The bad: Sluggish with disappointing gas mileage; navigation screen for driver only; low-budget interior.
The bottom line: The Chrysler Pacifica offers a lot of tech for making traveling more comfortable, but its mediocre mileage calls for a fat wallet.
Starting at $36,485, the options on our loaded traveling pleasure palace add up quickly with a $150 special paint job, a $700 stereo, a $195 Sirius radio (with a year of programming), a $1,695 GPS computer and screen, a $275 autodimming rearview mirror, and a $990 video player, as well as $300 for laminated door glass. It all comes to $41,520, which includes Chrysler's $730 delivery charge.

Outstanding vehicle!

Pros: Very comfortable, smooth rider, AWD a plus!
Cons: A bit sluggish, rear view could be better.

Summary: We were looking for a family car that could haul all our stuff and still be AWD without being either a mini-van or SUV. We settled on a Pacifica after owning a Ford Freestyle that turned out to be a lemon. I looked for a used 2005 with all the extras knowing it would be much cheaper than buying new. I managed to find a 3 year old (2005) with only 14,500 miles on it! I bought it in the mid-west and drove it 2,000 miles home to the northwest. What a fantastic, comfortable ride. We put over 900 miles on in one day and it didn't wear us out like other vehicles. It is a bit underpowered for its weight but that also gives it a more stable ride, especially in bad weather. It's not like we are going to be doing any racing in it anyway. We even managed just under 24 mpg on one stretch. For a vehicle that drives more like a car than an SUV or van we love it. It hauls us and all our stuff in style. If you can find a good used one, it is well worth it for far less than the cost of new.

Great vehical, I agree, CNET got it wrong
by samhrog36 on March 27, 2007
Pros: Interior, ride, looks, second row seats, 5 sec auto turn signal, seats 6, a lot more
Cons: Poor rear visability, signature decals went bad quickly, not a good car for dirty families since you feel bad for getting the interior dinged up since it is so nice.
Summary: I have the signature version of this car. CNET metioned flimsy interior. Way wrong! I chose this car over numerous other since the interior and its features was a lot ...
Summary: I have the signature version of this car. CNET metioned flimsy interior. Way wrong! I chose this car over numerous other since the interior and its features was a lot more bang for the buck. Example: I was going to get a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The difference is night and day. Passengers in a Pacifica have first class seats (sig touring model). Jeep passenger area is an afterthought and worthless. This car rides great. My only complaint is that I think I got a car with too nice of an interior. I have hockey and softball kids and the interior gets trashed all the time with sports type kids. But that's my problem.
I heard from a Chrysler dealer that they may not make this car anymore after '08. Big mistake. I'd like a 'next version' if there is one. -
Decent SUV/Van, Good for those who don't like mini-vans
by cjohnstone on February 15, 2007
Pros: Smooth drive, Luxurious, stylish, all the options you'd want.
Cons: Bad gas mileage, not as much room as I'd like, Pricey

Summary: Pros and Cons say it all. I feel that I am driving a car worthy of what I paid for it, but I feel that people in this type of car market wouldn't spend this amount, or would get higher end. This is not an alternative really to mini-vans, as it still has normal side doors, so getting in and out is the routine, flip the seat, to allow for rear passengers in and out. The 3rd row passenger seats are small, but adequate for a moderate sized person. Trunk space cubic inches is nice, but the doorway from the hatch is a lot smaller, so you cannot use up as much room as you'd like with larger sized cargo (the doorway is too narrow). The 3rd row seat was a selling point to us though, and you should know before you buy it that you just won't be getting the usual leg/arm room as other passenger seats. Overall I feel that we paid a bit too much for what we use it for, but that's just us. I would think that people who can afford this car would most likely go for a titch more and get a Lexus/BMW/Mercedes, because what you sacrifice in price you get less quality, and if you want this sized car and have the money, may as get one of those higher end dealers.

Unbelieveable Vehicle!
by cindybrock61 on August 18, 2006

Summary: We never even knew this vehicle existed. We found a 2004 Pacific Limited AWD at a Toyota dealership and we (and the sales person) were amazed at how great it was. We couldn't buy it fast enough. We bought it to replace our E320 Mercedes Benz (which is a piece of crap)...and the Pacifica is 10 times the car. We got a luxury 4-door car with the interior size of a van and the exterior look of an SUV all rolled into one! And, if you find a used one with "the works" for a great price, snatch it up. This was the ONLY one in the Metro Atlanta area we could find that had everything except the GPS (which we are having installed)! What a great vehicle!

Summary: I will be buying another Chryslere but not from Spirit Chrysler. Bad Service and General Manager is a jerk. I will go to another dealer even if I have to drive one hundred miles or more.
Updated
General Manager and Service manager are not honest and charge for unnecessary repairs etc. This is not the Chrysler company I am used to working with. Also left vehicle dirty and missing parts. They would not correct their damage; but charged exorbant fees in the process. Insulted me when I attempted to discuss the shortcomings. -

Summary: this is a great car!! i dont understand what cnet reviewers have against this car. the inside is in no way shape or form "flimsy." i have had this car for almost 2 years and its as sturdy as a rock. also, sitting in this is like flying first class. it is sooo roomy. cnet got it totally wrong, this thing is very quiet. i dont know what driving conditions they were in when they were testing this baby out. becuase this thing is definetely not noisy. about the "sluggishness" of this car, i dont understand that either. i frequently take advantages of wide open roads to put this car to the test by flooring it. and does this baby go. you can feel the power of the engine. this is in no way "sluggish." its not as fast as a sports car but i would gladly give up acceleration to keep my family safe. this car has gotten near perfect safety ratings. isnt that enough to suggest why it doesnt go 0-60 in 5 secs? this car deserves more than a 6.6!! and to finish this off, this car was actually made in collaboration of two car companies. the Chrystler team and the Mercedes team. they teamed up to make this car. and thats a FACT. this is becuase Mercedes bought Chrystler. if you compare the interiors of this car with the mercedes SUV. they have a lot in common. so cnet should consider that before they blast this car for being inferior to the german cars. ITS THE SAME COMPANY!!!!!
