2010 Scion xB price range: $16,700.00

The good: The 2010 Scion xB features nimble handling (thanks in part to its TRD lowering springs) and a good amount of power for a vehicle this size. It's also larger and more spacious than the competition. If you're looking for a vehicle in which to build an aftermarket car stereo, look no further.
The bad: Bluetooth hands-free calling feels tacked on and is difficult to use. Searching for media on the Alpine premium receiver is slow and frustrating. Touch screen for navigation is small and poorly located. Audio system is in desperate need of a powered subwoofer.
The bottom line: The 2010 xB is a solid performer with good handling and confident acceleration. However, its poorly integrated cabin technology is a bit five-years-ago, lagging behind that of other OEMs and the aftermarket.

Great. Easily beats competition(Soul, Element, Cube)
by soccerson114 on June 15, 2010
Pros: Great drive. Quick off the line. Solid feel. Feel safe inside. Not flimsy on the highway.
Unique looking. Easy to customize. Not as bread-boxy as Gen 1.
Very roomy and comfortable inside.Cons: No major ones. I put a 2 sub box in the trunk so the trunk is a little small but there are over the wheel well subs.
Got upgraded head unit but now wish I had just gotten the whole car at a base price and used extra $ for aftermarket that is better)Summary: The inside spaciousness is much like the Honda Element. Summary: The inside spaciousness is much like the Honda Element. But the xB has more character and comfort. It is more teenagery. Drives great. Got the upgraded head unit but now I wish I had just gotten the whole car stripped (except for the 16'' alloy wheels) and used the money to get a great head unit instead of the decent upgraded one. Got my own Viper security system instead of "Scion Security" I think that was a good decision. If you want great sound, you will want to get a sub or two. You can tinker with the EQ and get the stock system to sound ok, but nothing beats true bass. The subs do take up a lot of space in the trunk. I did find 8'' subs that go over the wheel well in the trunk so you still have a lot of space but I found them too late :( Easy to customize. The stock fog lights look kinda stupid so I went to Oznium.com and got their winglet LED fog lights with a strobe module. Awesome. LED's look real good in this car. The yellow light is just kinda gross. The xB is designed to be customized. I would suggest doing some customizing (sound at least). I also suggest getting the spoiler straight from the dealer. It looks good and is a pain to do after. It drives great. Great MPG. Quick off the line. I was between the xB, Kia Soul and Nissan Cube (Honda Element was too expensive for me but my family used to have one and the huge space between driver and windshield is very similar in xB) and the Cube was too small, Soul too slow off the line and both were kinda flimsy and loud on the highway. xB was solid as a rock with a wide stance but it didn't drive like a rock. I am 6'5'' and xB is the most comfortable. Get the spoiler and some subs and LED's (domelight and fog lights from Oznium.com easy to install). Get the fewest options from dealer and spend the cash on aftermarket. Get the xB. It is tight.

RECALL NEEDED-XB BURNS OIL!
by aeolus8 on December 13, 2011
Pros: REASONABLY PRICED, ROOMY, HAS TOYOTA BACKING
Cons: TERRIBLE PARTS, ASSEMBLED TERRIBLE, TOO MANY PROBLEMS, NOT THE TOYOTA QUALITY WE'VE BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO.

Summary: We own a 2008 Scion XB, and it started to burn oil. At first, we thought there was a leak or something, but no visible leaks on the floor. We took it in for an oil change, and then drove it for about 3,000 miles, checked the dipstick, and BAM... there was no more oil in the engine! ***?! We bought this car brand new. I took it back to Scion because they had another recall on the coils, and asked them to take a look. They said it was burning oil, and that I might have to change the small block. ***?! A 3 year old car and I need a new engine already? That was ridiculous! I did some research, and found someone posting that in several SCION AND TOYOTA models with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinderengine may be using too much oil. In T.S.B.'s SB002411 and SB009411 issued on Aug. 11, the companies said the problem was traced to the piston assembly. Replacing the pistons and rings should solve the problem. Affected models are the 2007-9 Scion tCs and the 2008-9 Scion xB as well as these Toyotas: 2006-8 RAV4, 2007-8 Solara, 2007-9 Camry, 2007-11 Camry Hybrid, 2009 Corolla and 2009 Matrix. After bringing this to the dealership's and corporate's attention, they agreed to pay for the parts, but not the labor. My problem with this is, if you know you have a piston assembly, be responsible and put out a recall to fix the issue. Growing up, Toyota was synonymous with quality. With this lack of action, the quality Toyota now puts out is very questionable. If I'm going to be getting crappy products that I thought were superior in quality, then I might as well buy American. I owned a 96 Ford Ranger, and put 250,000+ miles on it before I had to get rid of it. AND, the only reason I got rid of it was because someone rear-ended me. The insurance company totaled it because the cost of repair was worth more than the cost of the car. BUY FORD... great cars!

Great overall features.
by dongillespie001 on August 26, 2011
Pros: Good in town driving and super on long 500+ mile trips. Handles mountains with ease at high speeds..
Huge back seat leg room, and with back seats folded, can handle large items. Like central located dash instruments. Fun to drive-very peppy engine. VeryCons: Needs improved low beam headlights, telescoping steering wheel, 5 or 6 speed transmission. Better armrests-driver and passenger side.
Summary: Would consider buying future models with up-dated features.
Very fun to drive.

Bought mine new in May 2010, 9 months now, Love it!!!
by INtheBuff on January 27, 2011
Pros: Great turn radius, quick pick up speed, smooth over the road handling, quite inside (hardly any outside noise comes in), getting about 26 mpg (I live in the mountains the engine does not struggle), I am 6'3" have plenty of room in front and in back.
Cons: No passenger arm rest, stereo doesn't have the best sound, headlights on low-beam is not enough light need fog-lights (need to buy some), what is with the thick plastic sun-visors? (hard to put garage door opener on it)
Summary: This is a great little car - SUV whatever you want to call it. It handles great. Great in the snow too! It has built-in traction control which comes standard ...
Summary: This is a great little car - SUV whatever you want to call it. It handles great. Great in the snow too! It has built-in traction control which comes standard in all vehicles. I have driven American vehicles all my life for 30 years that is and the only thing is that the prices have become ridiculous. This is my first Scion and I love it.
This car comes loaded for a little under $17,000 wow! If I was to buy any American car with these features would have cost me starting at about $24,000 to $38,000! I want to own the car I don't want the car owning me! -
Multi-Function toaster open for after market upgrades..
by teva03 on July 30, 2010
Pros: Spacious interior, customizable after market accessories, powerful 4 cylinder engine, mature styling unlike the Soul and Cube, camry engine, Toyota reliability, usb/aux input
Cons: way out dated navigation system and blue tooth factory upgrade, gas MPG is so-so but not the best, handling a little flimsy, should be tighter
Summary: This is a great multi-functional car where after market upgrade is better than the factory. I bought my 2010 Scion XB and upgraded with after market racing stripes and leather ...
Summary: This is a great multi-functional car where after market upgrade is better than the factory. I bought my 2010 Scion XB and upgraded with after market racing stripes and leather interior for super cheap. The different is night and day. My voice activated w/blue tooth Garmin GPS is light years ahead of what is offer from the factory system for much less. Great car, thought it's factory blue tooth/navigation system is 10 years behind to it's competitors. Wake up, Scion!
