Manufacture Deception-Don't Buy
by lynnsnotes12 on April 22, 2011
Pros: none, It is being passed off as a "Clothes Washer" and doesn't get anything clean!
Cons: WRINKLES/TANGLES/DOESN'T USE ENOUGH WATER, LEAVES CLOTHES DRY, DOESN'T WASH THOROUGHLY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND OR MONEY. Won't wash, will tangle, tear, rip, apart all your clothing. Makes everything a major problem.
Summary: My 1st observation was that It did not get my clothes clean at all, I have tried additives, HE Tide, Borax, Oxyclean, spray n wash and still clothes are stained ...
Summary: My 1st observation was that It did not get my clothes clean at all, I have tried additives, HE Tide, Borax, Oxyclean, spray n wash and still clothes are stained and dingy. It does not wash all the clothes, leaves areas of clothes dry, it tangles the sheets into big knots. Bulky items cause the machine to unbalance frequently, I am 60 yrs old and 5'2" - (I can't really reach the bottom of the tub) how am I supposed to pull up this soggy mess and untangle it????? I have no choice and now my back is killing me. You should absolutely not buy this machine - particularly if you are under 5'5 and over 50 years old. it should have an ADA warning!!!! Even after two washes the clothes are not clean.
When I called Whirpool about the problem Alex (CSR) ask what I expect them to do? I said they should recall the product and take them back, Alex called it "Buyer's remorse" I called it "Manufacture deception".2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

If I could give a lower score I would.

Summary: I have had this washer for a while. It stops working part way through loads with an F 51 error code and the lid lock has issues. After doing some digging it turns out that this is an ongoing problem so I called Whirlpool. That refused to acknowledge that there is an issue with the washer and told me they would repair it for about $400.00 and flat out refused to do anything else. I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere. Outrageous!

the worst appliance I have ever owned
by carefulshopper9 on April 30, 2013
Pros: When it is working it is quiet.
Cons: I have owned this machine for several years. We replaced the mother board w/in 3 months and the inside of the control panel TWICE. It also stopped draining within the 1st year. It is known for a ball bearing issue which makes it LOUD when spinning.
Summary: Do NOT buy this machine! I would not take a brand new Cabrio for FREE. I can live with the tangled clothes and the unbalanced loads, but NOT the crazy ...
Summary: Do NOT buy this machine! I would not take a brand new Cabrio for FREE. I can live with the tangled clothes and the unbalanced loads, but NOT the crazy repairs needed for this machine~especially considering how much it costs. Oh, and the dryer is terrible too. We have replaced the panel behind the controls twice on that as well. It's almost as if they intentionally make these products fragile so that customers will need to repair and replace them within a few months. Check out the youtube videos of repairs on this horrible machine.

Worse Washer Ever
by sandijk on April 23, 2013
Pros: There are absolutely NONE!
Cons: Does not do an adequate job of cleaning. Clothing tangles. Frequently goes out of balance. Long cycles.

Summary: Clothes come out with dry spots, residue and obvious spots that should have come clean. Gym clothes still smell after washing. Sheets, jean legs and shirt sleeves tangle into tight knots that are difficult to undo. Loads frequently go out of balance and after the machine tries to re-balance itself several times the items need to be manually adjusted.I have to wash everything on the bulky cycle with an extra rinse to get marginally clean clothes. This uses extra water, extra electricity and extra time with most loads taking 60-90 minutes. My clothes look dingy, especially the whites and light colors.I tried to return this machine after the first week but the small independent appliance store where I bought it would not take it back. My calls to Whirlpool resolved nothing. They sent a repair man out and determined it was working as it should. This machine is so poorly designed I can't believe it could even be on the market. Whoever designed this machine should be fired and forced to do laundry with it 24/7. Whirlpool and Maytag will never get my business again and I make sure I let everyone I know about the problems I've encountered with this machine & my previous, Maytag Neptune which were both expensive, high end machines. (The Neptune "died" after 2 years of use)

Cabrio washer is one of the worst on the market.
by dlfey on April 13, 2013
Pros: This set looks awesome in our laundry room, no other pros
Cons: You can not leave it unsupervised, you have to re adjust your clothes through the cycles as it is constantly unleveled due to not having a center agitator. Poorly designed balance rods that can not hold the tub in place. So loud it sounds like a jet.
Summary: We were sold this washer/dryer by "knowlegeable" appliance sales person at Sears for $2100.00 (custom ordered in black) who moved us to this set from the front load ...
Summary: We were sold this washer/dryer by "knowlegeable" appliance sales person at Sears for $2100.00 (custom ordered in black) who moved us to this set from the front load when I asked him about the foul odor reported on the front loaders. We were told "this one will never get that smell, and it keeps the clothes from the center just like the front loader, no need for an agitator" He failed to tell us that this is a poor design and that without a center agitator your clothes will get tangled which will cause the washer to get UL which will break the stablizer bars ($200.00 to replace), which will cause the bearings in the tub to become loud and jam, the hot water fill valve on the inside of the washer went out($200.00 to replace). The final straw was the pump went out and diry yucky sluge was all over our tile under the washer. Our repair man advised us to buy a plain washer "Roper or Admiral" which we did for $299.00 new at home depot, so happy to have a quiet laundry room and clothes that are clean and ready for the dryer when they come out. Don't waste your money on this "fancy" washer and dryer they do not work as marketed and are expensive to maintain.

How did it get to market? It fails in so many ways.
by Lugozi on March 21, 2013
Pros: None that I can see.
Cons: Fails to meet the first requirement of an automatic washing machine: to clean clothes. It fails to meet the second requirement of an automatic washer: automatic functioning. Manual re-starts are required to rinse and spin, then drain and spin.
Summary: Residue is left on clothes and inside the drum. Clothes have to be washed and/or rinsed a second time. Monthly cleaning of the machine itself is recommended in the ...
Summary: Residue is left on clothes and inside the drum. Clothes have to be washed and/or rinsed a second time. Monthly cleaning of the machine itself is recommended in the instructions because of this residue and because the detergent dispenser does not drain the water that collects in it during a wash which in turn leads to mold and mildew issues. Whirlpool saw an opportunity to turn these design flaws into a plus and came up with a Whirlpool cleaning product for this very purpose!
This machine fails in so many ways. It does not save water and it does not save energy because loads have to be put through several times. It is not automatic. And it certainly does not save time. It takes more time than any other machine I have owned in the past 25 years because you cannot walk away from it - it has to be monitored constantly. -
If I could rate it less than half a star I would.
by berylberyl on January 18, 2013
Pros: Absolutely none the greatest piece of junk of a washing machine I have every come across.
Cons: Supposed to be energy efficient but it could take two to four hours of repeatedly putting in onto drain and spin to empty it because unless you have a certain number of items in it all you will get is "UL" uneven load. Forget trying to wash sheets.
Summary: You must put in an even number of the same size and type of clothes or you get the uneven load and it stops then you put it on drain ...
Summary: You must put in an even number of the same size and type of clothes or you get the uneven load and it stops then you put it on drain and spin and it stops, last night it took me three hours to get it to drain and spin and I had to take out half the clothes drain it then do the second half. There is no way it can save any energy, plus clothes are never clean. Junk Junk Junk, do not buy. It's in a house we rent but I am going out to buy our own machine and store it in the garage. Can't wait to get an old fashioned machine with an agitator at least that way you know your clothes are being washed. This one the last thing to come out just before the spin cycle is the fabric softener. Whirlpool should not be allowed to make such junk and should be held accountable for it.

This is a dreadful experience from the very beginning.
by we5hills on August 20, 2012
Pros: It will leave our house soon.
Cons: everything that has been said re: failed quality has been our experience. Warranty repairs have failed after a year.

TWO YEARS OF MULTIPLE PROBLEMS...
by KimJamul on August 10, 2012
Pros: I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY
Cons: My Cabrio fails unexpectedly and without warning: stops mid-cycle, fails to spin, fails to drain, fails to fill, leaves clothes streaked and dirty and dripping wet for me to wring out by hand. I just made my 5th call for repair.
Summary: I just finished a call with Sears Repair. I informed them that this was the 5th service call since purchasing this washer two years ago. The washer simply does not ...
Summary: I just finished a call with Sears Repair. I informed them that this was the 5th service call since purchasing this washer two years ago. The washer simply does not work. It fails to complete its cycle, fails to spin, fails to drain, fails to fill, leaves clothes streaked and dirty, smelly, and dripping wet for me to wring out by hand. I purchased it because of my faith in Sears, and its "energy saver" label. I often have to wash the same load 2 or even 3 times to get it clean. No more than 6 towels at a time (it is a large capacity washer, but acts up most when washing towels or jeans.
I'm a retired teacher, and in my best "teacher voice" -- calm but serious-- said I would like them come and take it away, issue me a credit or refund, or I would proceed to file with the Small Claims Court. His immediate response was, "I don't appreciate the threat." I carefully (teacher voice) explained that it was not a threat... it was information.
Yes, I'm angry. But more than that I am so disappointed in Sears, a company that I have always been loyal to. No more. Time to leave childhood behind and wake up to the reality that this is not the same Sears I've dealt with for the last sixty years.
Now to drive 25 miles of country roads to a laundromat. -
Horrible washer from Lowes.
by acbcollie on July 15, 2012
Pros: None that I can find
Cons: Doesn't clean clothes. After 1 1/2 yrs had to replace sensor, motor, & circuit board cuz it stopped working. I & several techs I've talked to are finding that the new models are junk.
