The good: Outstanding software bundle; sleek design; good image quality if light is adequate; built-in microphone.
The bad: Mediocre low-light performance; many controls inaccessible in NetMeeting.
The bottom line: Logitech's QuickCam Pro 3000 shows off the company's solid experience in the Webcam category; its performance in a well-lit room is excellent, although there are better options for twilight videoconferencing.

Summary: I have this webcam for approximately 1 year now, and I have been nothing but satisfied with a webcam this good for the price it goes for online. I do have to say that the bottom piece of my webcam came off after it fell on my desk, which meant I couldn't reattach it to the feature that holds the camera still. The camera doesn't perform well in low lighting, meaning morning pictures with no lighting will not come out that clear (which webcam will?). But with a light on, this is one of the best webcams I have ever had and seen (comparing it to my friends webcams as well). Cheap with great quality (especially when you adjust the lens and features), what more can you ask for?

Summary: My first webcam good experience.I was up and running in about 10min. Im running windows 98, 128mb ram, PIII 450, Alcatel usb dsl modem. No problems at all on setup, just make sure if you use a USB hub make sure you connnect to one of the powered ports. Every feature works great, take instant snap shots and videos and the quality is really good. I also like the the motion sensor works great. Also instead of turning the cam off you have this little privacy visor that justs flips down. The usb cable is nice and long and i have no problems with mounting of the camera. The camera has a great picture works well in low and bright light.I gave support a 3 I havent had to use it yet. I got mine for $79 at staples I think the sales guy made a mistake.It works well with yahoo messenger.This was my first webcam and I think I made the right choice very easy use.

Summary: Hey folks...here is a solution to make this 3000 a PERFECT 10-RATED webcam... When you buy this cam..it usually (it came on mine) comes with a standing support for laptop..so you only NEED TO UNSCREW the crappy one and screw in the laptop standing support...TRUST ME FELLAS..you'll see the difference!!! I agree the usual one sucks..but this is a great alternative!!! And the new software version (7) dramatically improves the low light video problem. Great webcam! ...sorry for Mac users though..it's true it's sad there's no support for you.

Summary: I bought the QC3000 Pro basically for being branded by a good company as Logitech, and because it´s Linux supported (not by Logitech). The camera performs as expected, good image quality, nice features but a really poor stand design, that makes putting the camera on desired position a real pain. It´s a good buy if you seek a webcam that performs well in wet-lit situations, but with a little tweaking, you can get some decent images on low-light ambients.

I bought it for 30$ b/c it was broken off base. A phat deal. Don't listen to any other people who say this camera's quality isn't good. Don't pay more than 50$ though.

Summary: Okay as a webacam, it does a great job with superior image quality. However, a lot of people say the stand is of a really really bad design. And yes, I agree (As you will see in my earlier post). However, all that said, I have found the solution. Take the camera stand apart. spray into the stand where the camera connects to the stand some of the stuff they use to stop your fan belt squeeling. Result, a more stable stand. Yes it works. Also, Logitec have updated drivers which I find has improved the image quality especially under low light conditions. (they have taken away the frame rate manual option).

Summary: The only problem I have with this cam is that it does not sit stable on its stand because the cable is too heavy. Even when the stand is turned back to front. I do agree also that in low light conditions, it dosen't do a great job. However, if you reduce the frame rate you will get a better picture quality. And, I am happy to and want to reduce the frame rate especially since pushing 30fps over a modem ain't gonna do much chop.
