  good idea poorly executed

  ...I got 2 of those cams as a gift for my mom and my mother in law. They are not a big fans of wearing headphones so I tested this cam paying special attention to voice features.
  
  There are none. Built in microphone doesn't do any job...sending really bad quality voice over Skype. Additionally there is very annoing chirping sound caused (I can only imagine) by driver or maybe even hardware itself.
  
  Video part is very average and don't expect miracles in low-light conditions. In addition color is shifted in low-light conditions so originaly grey wall is redish. Advertised HD quality / 2MP video is just another lie.
  
  I tested this cam on 3 different laptops and 1 tablet. Same issues with audio and video on all of them. I was hoping that chirping sound is caused by laptop but this isse reapeared on all of them.
  
  I would expect way more from $99 web cam.

  Not happy at all with product to say the least

  Pros: Very small and stylish.Push in lens,very cool and helps protect the lens...

  Cons: Video quality very poor in just about any lighting conditions.Sound sucks completely.Adjusting resolution is awlful.Not enough settings to adjust colours or sound.HD i don't think so!!! I bought a very cheap webcam previous to this one,20$.Plugged it in a

  This camera offers some nice features, but installs some unwanted software.

  Pros: It can shoot up to 8MP for photo resolutions and shoot up to 2MP for video resolution. The Windows Live(TM) call button is handy, as well as the one-touch upload to your blog.

  Cons: It is difficult to attach to my laptop. Also, you must be in a well lit area for video resolution to be optimal; however, if your location is too bright then the resolution is almost washed out.

  Summary: In summary, the overall resolution this webcam can deliver is what persuaded me to purchase this. Its small size can produce nice still images, up to 8MP, and the video resolution, up to 2MP, looks good if you are in an area with just the right amount of lighting.
  
  There seem to be 3 primary drawbacks of this webcam. First, its unwillingness to attach to my laptop, as well as stay in position. Microsoft says, "Compact and reliable, this webcam was designed especially for notebook computers." (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=005&active_tab=systemRequirements), but I'm not sure I believe that. The second drawback is its difficulty adjusting to different levels of lighting. The third drawback is that you must install some software that you may not want to install.
