As close to real bowling as you can get.
by pinbuster2005 on December 30, 2008
Pros: good graphics, and what you do reflects what the on screen avatar does
Cons: avatar isn't synced with player. also if your not a regular bowler you won't understand how your movements affect what the ball does.

Summary: This is a great game for the avid bowler. Everything is very close to being just like real bowling. What you do with your arm & wrist from speed of swing, release point, & snap of the wrist affecting what the ball does. Lane oil breaking down during the game makes you have to adjust your standing point & spot on the lane you aim for. Balls, Shoes, & wrist supports that you buy from the proshop during career mode also make a difference just like in real bowling. Career mode is hard but worth going through if you are a true avid bowler. If not then just go through quick play. A little harder to master and figure out but that is what bowling really is time and bowling regularlly depend on how good of a bowler you become in real bowling same holds true for this game. Between Candlepin & Ten-pin I've been a bowler for over 30 years so having to figure out what changes I need to make to make spare shots or to get my ball in the pocket is nothing new to me. Only thing I didn't like is the avatar on the sceen was a bit slower than you are but over all a great game for the true bowler.

Very real simulation of bowling (35 years in leagues)
by RayGarrison on July 26, 2008
Pros: Responds to minor changes in hand position, speed, armswing
Cons: Takes a while to understand how it is supposed to work

Summary: I can only imagine that the other negative reviews are the result of not understanding how the game is supposed to work. If you try to sync your motions to the on screen avatar, that simply isn't possible - that's not the way this game works. You go through the motions of delivering the ball - downswing, upswing, wrist snap at release - then watch the on-screen avatar execute the commands you gave it. The game responds very accurately to minor changes in wrist and hand position and speed variations in arm swing. I've only been able to throw 3 300 games, but have several dozen between the mid-250'2 and a 279. Only complaints- the game tends to leave way too many 9 pins on solid pocket hits, and spares are too easy. With a little care and patience it is almost impossible to miss a spare. Different balls react differently to various oil patterns - just like "real life" - and as the oil is carried down the lane and the pattern begins to break down you have to adjust your angle / speed / revolutions on the ball to compensate. I *LOVE* this game.

Very frustrating
by kasmar45 on October 9, 2010
Pros: You will make it to the Advanced league fairly easy. Ball roll animation is good.
Cons: Getting into the pro league seems almost impossible. You have to average 249 and the game spoilers written into the code make this almost impossible. The worst being a no roll ball. Randomly your ball will not roll causing a bad miss to the right.
Summary: I play this game mainly for the exercise. If I played it for the amusement, I wouldn't play it. It is far too frustrating. I play on the wii, ...
Summary: I play this game mainly for the exercise. If I played it for the amusement, I wouldn't play it. It is far too frustrating. I play on the wii, and from previous reviews, I understand the wii version is the worst. The ball does not roll consistently. It seems like the game does all it can to keep your scores low. I think it must be impossible to average 249 which is required to get into the pro league. 249 requires 5 doubles and to do this consistently enough to average 249 is made almost impossible by the game mechanics. I gave the game 2 stars.

Stick with Wii Sports
by StalkingWolfspc on November 25, 2007
Pros: um....graphics I guess
Cons: Swing does not match game, hook in arm isn't count, strength in swing does not count

I'd take it back to get my money back, if I could. >.<

Summary: The developers of this game missed the boat to put out a fun game for people to play. Wii sports with the Mii's is so much better. The wii remote action is just the opposite of the wii sports bowling. Swing down??? Why? In real bowling one throws forward not backwards!!! The developers who made this game should have consulted Nintendo before putting out this sad attempt of a game. I wasted $40 bucks. Never again!!! Suggestions for the future, make it so the wii remote mirrors real bowling action,ie forward release and twisting for spin. Make it Wi-fi compatible. If your considering buying this...don't waste your money.

Very Poor Wii Implementation
by JoePmorgan on August 28, 2007

Summary: This does not look anything like the pre release videos and screen shots. No Meter or side view. No multiplayer allowed in the career mode. In Quick mode can have multiplayers but, only one remote. No tracking of any socre info in that mode...at least in wii sports bowling it tracks each miis high score
Wii action is poor....Gamers probably have a term for this. Raise the wii remote...swing ball release b button and follow through. After you have done your physical motion then the on screen character does it....not like in wii sports bowling which is much better.
Long and short wii bowling is better do not waste your money -
Quite Possibly The Worst Wii Game EVER! Not Worth It!!!
by jautry27 on December 19, 2009
Pros: Absolutely Nothing!
Cons: No matter where I aim the ball, direct my swing, or which direction I swing my arm, it ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS goes to the left and I never get more than 1 or 2 pins. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
Summary: The swing response is not even close to being synchronized with your swing. By the time you've gone through your motions to swing and release, the player hasn't ...
Summary: The swing response is not even close to being synchronized with your swing. By the time you've gone through your motions to swing and release, the player hasn't even started moving forward yet. The ball ALWAYS goes to the left, no matter how hard you try to aim it somewhere else.

As real as it gets
by KARAOKEREDNECK on January 19, 2009
Pros: the control is very real. Its a great tool for learning how to pick up spares in real bowling. The same principles apply to this game as is in real bowling
Cons: I would like to have team league play. It would be nice if it tracked you 3 game series and game history. I would be good to be able to scout your opponents. Music would be nice.
Summary: Fantastic game play. A little dull for the average gamer.
