Fun like the first one, but...

Summary: I like continuing Blob's adventures very much. The early levels have been fun; the changes to the game play are improvements; the addition of the 2-D challenges helps with change of pace; and being able to save mid-level is a good thing. But...the game has lost its distinctive look and feel. It looks like any Super Mario-type game now. I would equate it with going from "film" to "video" - de Blob was a classic film, and de Blob 2 is the TV show that follows (shot on video). I would have traded-off some of the new features/functionality for the old look and feel.
I like having the Blob back for some new adventures, but I miss the old Blob.
