Excellent game for those out of the Call of Duty loop
by jdogcnet on November 8, 2010
Pros: Golden classic pro controller brings back memories of playing N64 version with golden controller
Slow-motion kill scenes (to rescue hostages) are way cool
Gameplay reminds of N64 version but it offers a lot of new twists to standaloneCons: Mission objectives can be unclear like at the airfield I had no idea one objective was to blow up the helicopter with the surface-to-air missiles until I completed the level and failed that objective
Summary: The game is a must have to those who played the N64 versions for hours on end. I myself along with college friends played the N64 version in the late ...
Summary: The game is a must have to those who played the N64 versions for hours on end. I myself along with college friends played the N64 version in the late 90's so much that we pretty much minored in the game for a year. The multiplayer split-screen was so addictive that often times we would have to take turns playing since about 7 people wanted to play with only 4 controllers. Adding online multiplayer to the mix with the new version only sweetens the pot because I can still enjoy the multiplayer version when my kids are asleep. Don't believe all the negative press. This is a darn good game. Maybe I would be more critical if I was a Call of Duty junkie. The closest I've come to playing call of duty is Quantum of Solace which I hear uses the Call of Duty engine. If you've played QofS, you will see some similarities with 007 Wii as far as the look of the game. Yet the game play is all on it's own.

Goldeneye 007 Wii
by johnkilo1 on November 5, 2010
Pros: Gameplay is very nice, Graphics are very good for the Nintendo wii I'm surprised. Classic c pro makes it feel like a playstation game. Levels are not easy it took me 1 hour and 16 minutes to beat facility on 007 Classic. Feels like N64 game sometimes
Cons: Well, I really liked Pierce brosnan as James bond now its craig. Graphics are borderline if you play ps3 everyday you might be mad. The title is Goldeneye but its really a much different game when your playing it because they changed the story.

Summary: I am very happy with this game. I feel like even though its alot different than the first one it does remind me of it alot and its basicly the same experiance. Bond should be Pierce though and I dont like that they changed the story and certain things like haveing a smartphone.A Smartphone... who do you know that has one, Oh thats right everybody. Now who do you know that has a watch that has a laser in it and can also control doors switches and magneticly bring you keys...James Freakin Bond. Hmmm Thats what I thought. But not anymore now he has a smartphone like an everyday terrorist. The gadgets are what make James bond special. So aside from that. As a new wii game this game is very good. Nice options looks great for a wii game and I have been playing the campain its nice detailed good objectives 007 Classic mode gives you a nice feeling of play the health and armor like the original is in the middle on the left and right of the croshair. It makes the game harder but it makes it feel very nice like an older shooter I like to collect hea;th packs it more real than standing for a minute somewhere safe and your health returns majicly...maybe the phone recharges YOU. LoL I have only made it to the end of facility now im on the airfield which looks pretty cool. It took me like 3 hours or more to finish 2 lelvels hahaha its HARD! because I couldn't find where to hack the second computer but the second time around I got it. All I have to say is Iyou like james bond games and you liked goldeneye alot you will for sure like this game. Even though its not exactly the same I think its better that way because we are in 2010 so we really should move on. Now in 10 years hopefully everyone will rember all the fun they had playing this game together in living rooms and online.

The Best FPS for the Wii console...EVER..So far..
by jermboyz on December 26, 2010
Pros: The new Wii-mote freelook for look and turn function puts a whole new feel on FPS games..The Nunchuk also has a lean left/right movement. The feel of actually pointing the gun at the enemy really puts you in the game.
Cons: Daniel Craig should not be Bond...007 Goldeneye was and still should be a Brosnan character. It takes a minute to get used to the freelook funtion, Wii sensor bar sensitivity needs to be a 1 for the best feel..IMO
Summary: Overall, this game is spectacular..It is not the same ol' Goldeneye we used to play..No...No game will ever be like that, but the Wii remake is SUPER ...
Summary: Overall, this game is spectacular..It is not the same ol' Goldeneye we used to play..No...No game will ever be like that, but the Wii remake is SUPER AWESOME..for $39.99 you can't beat it...There are some strong changes to levels and storyline..But really...who wants to play the same game they did 10+ years ago? I think it's a suttle enough change to still deserve the name "Goldeneye". Go out and get it..You will not be dissapointed.

Great fun - by far the best FPS I have played on Wii.
by Little_Girlyman on December 6, 2010
Pros: Gameplay is smooth, graphics are good (for the Wii)
Using the Wiimote as a pointer brings Goldeneye into a new era, and controls are very good.
Combines the best of Call of Duty, Metal Gear and original Goldeneye.
Game is quite long to play through.Cons: The non-skippable cut-scenes. They're good, but I don't want to see them over and over.
Objectives are somewhat simplistic, and occasionally frustrating, but they add an element you don't find in e.g. C.o.D. and they do break the gameplay up nicely.Summary: I have played about 20 hours of single player so far, and I'm saving the last missions for later. One mission took me almost an hour on the easiest ...
Summary: I have played about 20 hours of single player so far, and I'm saving the last missions for later. One mission took me almost an hour on the easiest difficulty, but the more you learn how the AI and stealth work, the faster you can progress.
007 Classic mode is great fun, and complements the stealth aspects of the play - instead of the more gung-ho tactics you can use on games with regenerating health, you have to take care all the time.
Iconic levels like 'Facility' bear little resemblance to the original, but have clearly been designed very, very well, and it's great fun to find the myriad little secret passages and new ways to complete areas without being detected.
Little touches like weapon caches, and the occasional rocket launcher make things really good fun, and the cut-scenes tie together well in to a coherent story.
It's perhaps not one for Goldeneye purists, but it's a great FPS, and probably the second best game I've played on Wii, after Zelda Twilight Princess.
I can't wait to get some friends round to really kick on with the multiplayer.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

A good game that doesn't deserve the name of Goldeneye.
by Goldenick2 on November 7, 2010
Pros: The multiplayer mode is cool, and if you imagine it's not James Bond, it would be a good game.
Cons: The story is very different from the original movie. And all the gameplay looks really like Call of Duty... The old Goldeneye was original because you had missions search for object and disarm things, not only had to kill everybody you see.
Summary: First of all, the story is so changed sometimes I didn't knew if it wasJames Bond or only a war game. And the only thing you do all the ...
Summary: First of all, the story is so changed sometimes I didn't knew if it wasJames Bond or only a war game. And the only thing you do all the game is shooting at people. You have no missions! And the gameplay is really copied from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, for a moment I thought I was playing Xbox (with really lower graphics). At first I was really ecited to see how they remade the game, but now I'm just really disapointed of all the changes and all the unessessary outnumberded of people everywhere. It would be a good game, if it wasn't named "James Bond" and certainly does not deserves the title "Goldeneye" especially when the creators change the actor from the movie.
