Good Idea, Poor Execution
by mnugghuhx on November 20, 2006
Pros: Destructable environments, occasional enemy AI, Japanese voice acting, weapons, graphics (only w/ component cables)
Cons: Controls are extremely difficult to use, spaztic, buggy, graphics w/out component cables, story is a little weak, multiplayer

Summary: Basically, this game would be fairly sweet if it were a standard FPS. I feel like the Wiimote actually hurts it here. The game seems to have a problem using the remote effectively (while nothing else for the system has this problem) and it is very difficult. The problem (i think) is the "bounding box" (the area of the screen that indicates movement as apposed to aiming.) It is waaaay at the corners of the screen, making it very hard to judge when you will turn and when you will aim. This leads to frantic chaos and death of your character. Multiplayer is worse than single player. Plus, the enemies are so annoying, "I'll kill you!", "freeze, you murderer!" in the most generic computer nerd voice and these lines are coming from what appear to be bloods, krips and the yakuza. Very unimpressive. The speaker in the Wiimote doesnt have great sound quality, but its definetly very cool to hear the weapon reloading in your hand. This game has an unfortunate amount of problems, because you want to like it, and its could be fun, but unfortunately it is not. Disappointed, hopefully it will have decent resale value.

Sound - Simply amazing every aspect of sound you can hear atleast for me, i also noticed that all the names used in it are authentic like yakuza, katana etc...when you swing your katana and get your opponent you can choose whether he lives or dies.
Now let me tell you i had doubts at first(Many), But after playing its not so bad, Aiming is dead right perfect i had no problems so dont worry there. The Ai can be better its not the greatest The environment is destructible, and tables can be flipped over to be used as cover.I will say that I thought the swordplay could have improved If you like first person shooters get this if you have the wii.
The game is really faced paced your girfriend gets kidnapped and you gotta save here. sure get to fight alot of yakuza.
The camera gets pretty fast at times and its hard to keep up, overall i give it a 8.0 outa 10
you gotta stand up mostly all the time unless someone figure out a way to sit down, whcih makes it very difficult
if you have the cash and wana play something thats fun go buy this. -
Good try... maybe better next time

Summary: I rented this game and played through a few levels. I expected more out of this game, especially hearing all the prelaunch hype and watching the gameplay videos. The gameplay is monotonous, the controls don't react well and sometimes I noticed they would get stuck spinning around aimlessly, mostly during the gunfights. The sword fighting left me wanting more... it got kind of repetitive after awhile. Glad I rented.

Wow! Cnet you are terribly wrong
by Flipit827 on November 25, 2006

Summary: Cnet you are so wrong. First of all, I cant imagine a good shooting game on a console with a normal controler. It's just plain dum and doesen't immerse you as much. Maybe if you are one of the best Halo players in the world. Now my opinion is: Sweet graphics, and the problem is that you people don't see that this uses the Unreal engine, aside from the mid range polygon models, these are rare to find as good looking: glare effects, lighting, explosions, sparks, enviroment destruction, the enviroments themselves, the water... all amazing graphics for a console of thsi calliber, almost like PS2.5
The sounds are awesome, but some of the voice acting is kind of poor. Checkpoints in teh game are sometimes ackwardly placed and can make the game frustrating. Sword fighitng is great, and I couldn't have expected more out of it. The story is interesting and follows through pretty well. What I would have liked is if they implemented some kind of Unreal/Quake3 multiplayer fast paced shooting, with Computers in it too. Coop. campaing has always been a dream of mine in a FPS and if this one had it I would have gave it a 10.
Overall it's a good game to start of the console with and to get familiar with the wimote and now I'm off to buy Call of Duty 3 to see how that works out. -

Summary: The motion sensor does not allow you to rest your arms. While playing two player if you even try to shift while playing you end up running into walls or looking at the ceiling. Have not tried it with the sensors turned down but out of the box it is incredibly jumpy. Playing two player you will be lucky if you can get a clean kill.

First good fighting game for nintendo
by wcmastery on July 4, 2006
Pros: You get to use guns and sowerds, Probably online
Cons: Multiplayer mode might not be that fun, Maybe it won't be an online game

Summary: This game is the first good fighting game out for Nintendo. I think it is one of the most anticapated game for the Wii next to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Also it will be cool to use sowerds and guns in the same game, espically using the Wii remote equipted with a sowerd. It is definitely going to be a must have game for the Wii.
