Awesome game! Best Mario game ever!
by whatsgood379 on November 30, 2007
Pros: Great level depth, gradually increasing difficulty, very well designed in terms of controls, levels and story
Cons: Child-Like, Cartoonish

The design is beautiful, levels are very well thought out in terms of diffuculty, puzzles, and art. The innovation is the Wii controller, which easily controls Mario even when he is walking upside down on the bottom side of the planets. The game also provides a learning curve, making the first few stages/bosses extremely easy while the player is still learning to use the controls and Mario's abilities. It soon gets tougher with each level and difficulty increases gradually throughout (I have only finished the initial 25% of the game so far).
The co-operative mode is fun, and my wife loves playing with me; however, I feel that the two player mode where players take turns is missing - this would probably add to the game.
The levels have great depth, with lots of items, hidden areas to discover. Many times you will realize there's another part of an area that you can access only after running through the level several times. If you haven't played any of the recent Mario games, it may seem overwhelming at first, but you will know exactly what you're doing after just 1 to 2 hours of play.
The levels have enough variety in them to keep the player interested. Each planet/galaxy has something unique in terms of Mario's abilities, enemies, puzzles/obstacles, and design. I've gotten past a number of levels already, but do not feel at all that the game is repetitive.
Overall, I am normally a tough critic, and would seldom give a perfect grade, but there really isnt much that could be done better in this game. It is as close to perfection as it gets.
Thank you Nintendo!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: When this game was introuced, everybody wanted to cry in joy. They thought their were seeing God in person. It was to become one of the greatest Wii games to appear. It was Super Mario Galaxy. With over 9 million copies sold and a amazing sequel. This game is a must buy for all Wii owners.

Among the most creative games this decade.
by The_Penguin_Man on November 29, 2009
Pros: Clever, original, and creative level design. Artistically superb graphics. Many levels to play. Challenging to collect all 120 stars, but at the same time it is not to hard for the casual gamer.
Cons: Lacks incentives to replay the levels.

Great game for everyone
by rtpick1198 on February 22, 2008
Pros: Just enough 2 player support to make it fun for both players
Cons: Hard for little kids (under 6ish) because there is some reading.

Summary: This game is the best game we have. If you don't have it and are trying to decide what game to get...Get this one! You will not be disappointed at all. I can say everyone in my house plays this game and love it.
The 2 player feature adds more "teamwork" to the game. The 2nd player helps Mario by holding enemys blowing up items that are in the way and collecting "star bits" that are used for various things during the game.
This is a game for the whole family and I don't know why anyone would rate it less than 10 because if i'm talking to someone about the Wii usually in the conversation one of us will ask "Do you have super Mario Galaxy?" and then it doesn't matter what the answer is that will spark a 20 minute conversation just about the game. Way to go Nintendo!! -
Must get Super Mario Galaxy!

Summary: This game rocks! I played Mario games on NES and SNES and I am glad that I bought Super Mario Galaxy. This is my 2nd Mario game for the Wii and this is way better than Mario Party 8 (for single player that is)
The graphics aren't like Xbox 360 but they're very colorful, the music is great, and the fun factor is there which is most important to me.
What I don't like is the 2 player co-op. It's a bit distracting so I just play solo. You can play as Luigi if you collect about 120 stars but I feel you should have the option to play him or Mario whenever you want.
The game seems easy at first but the more stars you collect, the more harder it gets.
I highly recommend Super Mario Galaxy if you're old school Nintendo player like me. You will NOT regret it. -
A masterpiece

Summary: I highly recommend this game. In my opinion it is the best Mario they have ever made. It combines all the great qualities of past versions and ads a whole new dimension with the Wii. It has adventure, puzzles, great graphics, ease of controls and it's a very large game, as in amount of adventures to accomplish. This game alone makes the Wii worth it's money.
