Pros: Fast paced / SMART System is awesome / Camping is useless and completely out of place / Objective driven game, teamwork is necessary, no more lone gunmen for they are useless, just like campers / Character customization of abilities make for a varied expe
Cons: Something's amiss...can't quite put the finger on it, but something is definitely missing. Maybe more guns and customization options. Feels like guns are pretty much all the same more or less (like 3 or 4 types of em)

Summary: First of all, yes, this is the XBox review page. So what, anyway, it doesn't appear to be here PC version, and when I typed in Brink user reviews in Google, this is what popped up.
Second, I was kinda stunned to read from Deel33ch that the FPS world had moved to the console in the past few months or years or so. I myself play both PC games and PS3 games, but i've always felt FPS games were meant to be played on PC, where you got speed, a much better aiming and shooting gimmic (I'll pick up a mouse to aim and shoot lightyears before I start doing so with my thumb on a control stick...). To me, anything that has to do with multiplayer / speed / graphs means PC anyway.
Ok...on to da game, let's explain some of those pros and cons, and then let's clash with those 3 who reviewed this before me!
Fast paced : Oh hell yeah. If you're the sluggish, slowly moving Splinter Cell kinda guy, FORGET THIS GAME! If you don't move, you're dead. Or you'll fail the mission. And failures can't win. LOL.
SMART System : Gotta love the parkour style play, jumping around left and right, avoiding enemy fire, sliding under a pipe, swiping an enemy off his feeth and getting a headshot all the while...it's insanely fun!
Campers & Loners : Yup, their time is revolute. In BRINK, you can't stand idle. Like mentioned before, Stand still, and die. Or maybe you'll stay far away from the action to stay alive, but it's nasty way to reduce your team's chances of winning. Every class compliments the others, and a team that sticks together has a much bettre chance at winning. For example, among other abilities, Soldiers can refill ammo, Engineers car buff weapon damage and armor, medics buff health and revive fallen teammates, and operatives can disguise themselves as the enemy (which works quite well if you ain't facing another pesky Operative who can see trough the disguise). This is also something i meant when I spoke of "varied experience". You can actually change class within a game (not many players play early level Operative, and some objectives require them to hack systems).
That's another thing. Everyone can feel useful. There are objectives for everyone. Soldiers will blast doors with time bombs as his teammates cover him while he sets it up. Operatives will need to hack systems using a hack box, which an enemy Engineer can remove if left unguarded. Engineers can set up mines and turrets and repair stuff (E.G. Turrets, Barricades, Tank Bots, disarm mine and bombs, etc.) Finally, Medics, which are more team oriented, will sometimes have to heal an ostage that needs to be escorted, which the enemy tries to slow down before you can free him.
Of course, when I say enemy, you can actually play both sides, and both sides will have action missions, or defensive missions.
Now...for the things that feels missing...
I'm keep discovering the game over the weeks, I'm nowhere near of having experimented with every class, skills and guns. To whoever was saying that leveling goes too fast...unlocked most of the gear in a night...i'm sorry, but get a life...To the gamer who doesn't play til his eyes wanna pop out, and then some, this game takes a while to get everything. Besides, If you wanna fully experiment every class, you gotta make a number of characters. You can actually resell you "talent points", but you lose a level when you do such a thing. So that ain't what's missing in my eyes.
Laggy? Graph not impressive enough? Drop the Xbox version, get the PC one. You'll have settled 2 of your problems. So that's not the problem either.
Guns...I was looking at that yesterday. If you don't unlock new guns, yeah, you'll find that they are almost all the same. But when you unlock the grenade launcher, the shotgun, the sniper rifle, pistols, all of a sudden, the arsenal expands, and gives you a hell of a lot more choices. You can also change guns within a match, therefore, if no soldiers are giving up ammo on your side, head to a command post, switch guns, and you got full ammo. I've heard complaints about the running out of ammo, but it can easily be avoided. As for the guns customization, most of the stuff is purely esthetic (3 red dot scopes, 4 muzzled shot...they all do the same thing, but they'll graphically enhance your weapon...gotta love a pistol with a sniper scope lol).
So what's missing? From what I read from myself....this game seems perfect! But.....it ain't. Let me reassure you : it's nothing a quick patch can't fix. Sometimes, you will think you can jump on top of an obstacle, or across one...and quickly find out that for some reason, you can't, even though it seems very accessible. Another bug i've spotted, as an Operative, when trying to disguise yourself, it can be tricky. If your dead target isn't laying flat on the ground...good luck getting him. You better forget him and move on. I'm guessing this is what's missing. BRINK is selling "liberty of movement", but that freedom seems discalibrated sometimes. But sheesh.....it happens so rarely, and the pace of the game is so fast, that you quickly forget about those little bugs, knowing Bethesda is bound to release additionnal content and patches...
Great team base game. Needs Patch Improvements.

Pros: Team based Squad class required play is good change. Takes me back to old Team Fortress days. Smart System is fun and adds new ways to flank the enemy. Works much better on PC at this time. Believe will be better on xbox and PS3 if they add much needed gr
Cons: PC not much. XBOX Laggy Laggy Laggy & needs grouping party system. You dont play team base games without party system these days. CoD set the standard for that. I believe if they fix these 2 major things. Console version will be better then PC.

I believe if they release a large beta they could have improved these launch problems. Lag issues, Party system. It appears developers are working on issues to improve the problems. Within first day they have already patched once showing eagerness of supporting the players. I would not flag this game as bad online game until you give them the chance to correct these issue. This game takes alot of the good parts of may other FPS games and puts it into one. They have also developed a whole new movement system. If these issues arent resolved within a month of release I would change my story. But in fairness, it does play well when you dont have lag. For those who complain about not having any idea of whats going on. I believe you just didnt read, or put in enough time learning fundimentals of the game.

PC tech is so far beyond 360 a six year old system. Guess what , Crysis 2 looks like junk on 360 and PS3. If you saw it on PC you would blow buckets all over the monitor. Stop putting out junk/punk reviews. It's like being mad you bought a Kia and it doesn't perform like a Ferrari when they are both car types. Dont say something like not everyone can afford a hooked up pc because for 500-600 the opening cost of xbox and ps3 - yes you can.

Pros: SMART - Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain : Very cool feature, But sadly one cool thing cannot make up for the rest of the game.

Summary: After watching the numerous adds for this game I was pretty excited for BRINK. I thought that it was going to be something truely new and fun to play on my Xbox 360. But sadly I was mistaken...
I decided to head over to Gamestop and pick this little game up at midnight simply because I had nothing better to do. After getting home I went home, popped it in, and started playing. The first thing I noticed was that the beginning menu screen was a tad bit confusing, but nothing to extreme, just simply could've been layed out better. (This is just more or less a personal preference and really didn't impact my view of the game.) - After creating my character out of the basic stuff that they give you I started in on the "Story Mode" and boy was I in for a surprise. "Boring and Dull" would be my words to describe it, there isn't exactly much of a story to go with this game at all. While yes, there is a so called "Plot Line" I honestly could barely follow any of it. The missions and objectives seemed to have little or nothing to do with the actual story, and it pretty much felt like I was playing a multiplayer deathmatch, and half the time I had no idea where I was or why I was blowing up this wall.
Gameplay was even less impressive. The guns you used seemed to do little damage at all, and you'd have to end up emptying ¾'s of a clip into someone before they got "Incapped" which then in turn pretty much leaves them on the floor for god knows how long waiting for a medic or until they decide to go back to the respawn point. - I could tell very little difference from any kind of weapon, unless it was in a different category (SMG, Rifles, etc.). And even with attachments the guns didn't exactly seem much different than either. - Yes I realize that the attachments aren't supposed to make a huge difference, but unless you truly attached something drastic to your weapon, it pretty much felt the same as it did without anything. - Character movement was a bit awkward. (Not including SMART.) At points you felt like you were a frog on butter and at other points you felt like a brick. This wasn't exactly a huge deal, but it's far from flawless.
Graphics all in all were alright, but other games out there obviously have better. - There was nothing truly 'eye-popping' about BRINK's visuals.
Customization was also alright. To use an example BRINK has the weapon customization similar to Call of Duty Black Ops (or whichever.) or Battlefield BC 2, and the character customization like Halo: Reach. - While in some aspects it may have more or less than these other games, having both was sort of cool. Although one could argue that most people are going to be using the same item quite often, seeing as some items look much more pleasing than others.
SMART was one of the shining points of this game. You'll love the feel of jumping, sliding, and all around "Ninja-ing" around a map. While not a flawless system, it was very entertaining. It truly adds something to the dynamic of the gameplay. - But sadly, SMART can't save an entire title. (I would love to see more games with this type of movement option, it was truly fun.)
In summary, I held this game for a grand total of 12 hours?I know, not exactly a lot?Overall I wasn't impressed. It was EXTREMELY repetitive and quickly grew dull and boring after bout the 6th hour of play. I finished most of the challenges and unlocked most of the gear in under an hour. (Not something I'm looking for in a game that I'd play more than once or twice.) - BRINK, to me, didn't have much replay value. - I thought it was going to fly high, but it fell like a rock.
Play it if you wish, but just a warning - Be Careful - It might turn into 60 dollars you want back?
