Summary: Look, I'm a huge fan of the FIFA series. As far as sports games, they are in my top 3 every year. But this year has been a little different.
EA promised us a lot of things this year and in my opinion, only came through on the graphics. But why shouldn't they? We are talking about next-gen systems...right? Right.
From what I can remember, we were supposed to have a whole new "feel'" with ball control and passing. Since they finally realized that pre defined aniamations of the player and ball physics suck. So ball is completely independant of the player this year. Ok, I can see that. Sort of. It still feels like your fighting against an invisible force field of sorts most of the time. I can't tell you how many times I had the ball roll right past my player, slowly. And watched in horror as my guy watched it roll by. Even while trying to direct him to the ball. This seems to happen more frequently near the goal. Thanks for that EA. Also, why aren't there any moves? Hard cuts don't count. To emphasize passing? What? Do real players use moves? Ya. Why can't we? At least give me a step over or something!
Gameplay is slightly improved by the button designations this year. Somebody finally asked the hard questions over at EA. Like: Why do we have the defend button set to the same button as to shoot? Also: Is there any reason why we have the switch player button default set up as the same button as to pass? Do we want to drive our players insane! Playing FIFA in the past was a delicate dance between button control and timing, not to just pass or shoot the ball away after you had gained posession of it. For most people, it was too much to handle. EA lost a lot of potential players to that alone. But back to the game.
This has basically just been about me ranting about some of my gripes with the game, but there is some good things about it too. I mentioned the graphics earlier. They look prety good. My only problem is why no 1080 support. Just 720? Come on. Once you get into a match, it plays pretty smoothly and online play in generally lag-free. FINALLY!!!
In closing: If you like the FIFA series, you already have this game and know what I'm talking about. If your sort of into soccer and wanted to get a game to play because you watched the World Cup for the first time this year and want to have some easy fun. Maybe this isn't your game. By the time you figure it out, you might end up hating the beautiful game. Not soccer's fault, just EA's. You wouldn't hink it would be too hard to put together a soccer game, but apparently it is.

Summary: This game has great graphics and gameplay but, there are no teams from Brazil, Norway, Argentina, only Spain, England, France, International, and one team from Rest of World, Juventus. The game is great, fabulous graphics, but falls a little short in the feature section.
