Pros: Excellent graphics and controls, considering this is a port from an existing platform. Sure the graphics are not next-gen, but it is a conversion none the less.
Cons: Cost, lack of clear simlpe instructions.

Summary: These type of games have so much potential to be the cornerstone of the Xbox 360 and LIVE community and at the same time the pricing structure sucks! Although MS will not charge users anything (i.e. Free XBOX Live Silver account), Square-Enix's PlayOnline service is expecting to charge $12.95 U.S. a month to play this game. So do the math (all terms U.S.), FFXI Game $59.99 add ISP charges for monthly high speed access (Earthlink) $49.95 @mo and finally add the MMORPG monthly cost of $12.95 @mo and you get the grand total of $814.79 for the year. Now assume that you will most likely have 3 games like this and the average cost per title per year translates to approximately: $415.19 @title. This assumed each title had its own $12.95 @mo cost to play above and beyond the ISP charges. As you can see, this will make these games quite unaffordable for the majority or people. I understand that managing an environment to acquire and maintain the servers required for these games is costly, however I believe a much lower charge would be more attractive and I mean lower! $2 to $3 maximum. Another issue with this game is the extreme lack of instructions, although this is a beta on the Xbox 360, there are no basic instruction to show or attempt to interpret the player interface to the gamer, you are left to figure things out for yourself. Things as simple as, do I have any armour? How do I put it on, How do I know where to purchase things? How do you level up and get money? What's that TP bar and what is it used for? This is quite frustrating for a new user trying to learn this game and in most cases, after wasting 4-6 hours getting pummelled and killed by bumblebees and some of the easiest creatures in the game. Gamers will quit and shelf this title due to not being able to succeed and progress without understanding the game's premise. Another item of concern is even with this beta version; there is a concept of purchasing items via Auction houses as opposed to actual in game shops. These auction houses have already (in 1 month) exploded in activity and a new Level 1 gamer will not be able to afford anything in the auction houses unless they win a lottery.
Cons: Should have made it Xbox Live in lieu of a seperate online program

Summary: This could very well be the worst Final Fantasy I've played. Maybe they should have stuck to Sony. First of all, it took atleast two hours to even get the game started, after the ridiculous amount of downloading required to play. Plus you now have to pay for a different online package that is only being used for this one game. Why couldn't they have just gone through Xbox Live? Except for the movie clips, the graphics are no where near the 360 potential. And finally, now that I have completed the required registration to play, this game can no longer be traded in at my local game store. Very unhappy about this game!
