Summary: This game makes racing complex and takes the details to the road. The telemetry feature really displays the extent to which this game is designed. Customizing a cars looks and mechanics is easy yet may sometimes seem unreal. The game is VERY long but the rewards are well spaced out. The length of the game might overwhelme some people but this is professional racing so the career mode helps develope a driver from level 1 to level 50.
This game must be played with a steering wheel joystick since thats what really brings this game to life.
All in all a gr8 game but those people looking for a game with a story line like NFS this may not be the game for you. Those looking for real life racing then FORZA BABY FORZA...
Summary: I got a copy of Forza 2 as a bundled offer with my Xbox 360. Being that I've never really been much of a racing enthusiast the game was just left on the shelf collecting dust.
Anyway about a couple of weeks back I decided I'd just try it for the heck of it and see how it was. I have not stopped playing this game since then, except to go to the loo, have occasional breaks for food...and of course write this review.
This is undoubtedly the best racing game ever made till date. Many of the gripes that players like me had with earlier racing games (read GT2) have been done away with. For e.g. the difficulty levels are really scalable based on how tough, or easy you want to make this game for you.
Considering that I'm a total racing sim noob this was really a blessing. You've got some really great features like 'suggested line' which basically tells you when to brake, and when to floor the pedal to the metal. Very useful if you don't want to have your car spinning out from under you on that steep chicane.
Plus what's more, if you do get tired driving you can actually hire a driver to do the job for you! Now what more could a noob possible ask for?
You want cars? You got hundreds of them in this game. From the most undesirable (read the type of car your grandma drives) to the most lusciously seductive models (read the type of car that Pam Anderson drives) are all available here.
My favorite feature is the replays. Why? Well coz the replay just looks so damn real. Everything is so finely detailed its hard to believe this is a game replay and not an actual race.
One gripe though, the race audience could have been more realistic. Often when you do get close enough to see them, they look so un-lifelike it just makes you want to cry. In a game as finely crafted as this, this is just a crying shame.
All in all I still highly, highly, highly recommend buying this game.

Summary: Has what I remember liking on the original Grand Tourismo... performance tuning and upgrades that really work. Sounds are great and realistic, changing the engine and exhaust changes the sound as well. Lots of cars, too may game play options and car customization options to list. Cars handle well and it is almost too easy to drive fast. You can make it super easy to drive by turning all the assists on, nice addition if you are a casual gamer. Cars can be damaged which is cool. The damage effects performance also. Finally, there is telemetry... This makes tuning the car a lot easier and it lets us engineers "play" with the knobs. From what I can tell...the how the vehicles respond to changes in the tuning works pretty good and the telemetry data can actually be used to do this tuning...very nice indeed. Also has online play but I didn't try it.
I only wish it had a few more American tracks, in game soundtrack controls (skip track for example), and it is missing the in car view that PGR has.
Pros: Customization is far beyond any game I have seen. The graphics a spectacular. Tilt is a 10/10 right off the bat. Heck, why need a Nascar career when you can play this game?
Cons: The game could have used a few more music tracks, but thats just a sugestion.
