Cons: some video and audio chopping, game is too short, need a broader map

Summary: I will get right to my disagreement with the review here and on IGN. I think the review scores are rather harsh here. Minus a few technical issues, I think this game took a piece of Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 and built upon it very nicely.
The levels while short, are well thought out. Getting through towns and then into the mountains is great. The terrain and graphics are awesome. The ability of your enemies to blend in to the terrain is really good. There was one mission at night that you are sneaking through the snow and you sneak up on a patrol. One of the enemies was right in front of me, but blended into the bushes and I couldn't see him my first time through.
MOH really did a masterful job at some of the small details also. Watching your squad mates run up the mountain, you can noticeably see them slow down and labor a bit. After bombs hit and rock and dust is kicked up so you can't see is really nice. The best detail however, is the level of detail that was put into emulating real Seal and Ranger combat and communication. Fantastic job. Light years ahead of anything that has come previous.
While there is little to no character development, the constant instruction and guidance from your team leaders really brings a more personal relationship than is normally felt in a FPS game. Bad Company 2 leads the way in character development. It's not great, but it's there. Call of Duty is dead last in this area. There have been times when I was playing Call of Duty and forgot which character I was playing due to the complete disconnect of game and character.
The surroundings in this game are really great. The rocks and hills and caves and everything that goes with this landscape was so good it really makes you wish there was more access. The game does keep your path laid out precisely with no deviation. This is a bit disappointing but understandable. COD and Bad Company are also not open map games. Bad Company does open up the maps a bit to give you a little breathing room and a chance to take in your surroundings. MOH does take Bad Companies idea of short fierce battles and then a chance to move on through the map. It's not Shoot, shoot, shoot, next level. Shoot, shoot shoot, next level.
There are some video glitches along the way...though few and far between. The audio in the game is outstanding. That said, there are audio glitches that are rather strange. If you accidentally shoot one of your teammates, they yell out about watching your fire. There are times in the game that your squad is telling you to watch your fire 30 seconds after it happened. Sometimes they yell it when it doesn't happen at all.
I think this game is worthy of a 9 rating on the IGN score system, not, the 7.5 or whatever it got. MOH really breaks new ground and is the front runner in a new era of FPS. Hats off to them for getting back into the mix. I really hope they build on this game. My hopes in the future is that it can be at least twice the length. Someday one of these companies is going to take a game like MOH and put it into a Red Dead Redemption format and have the perfect game. hundreds of side missions with a huge open map. Until that happens though, I'll keep playing MOH. It gets a slight nod over Bad Company for me and I won't ever go back to Modern Warfare 2.
Description:Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators. Over 2 million soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to an enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan.
