finally a Xbox 360 game who uses the power of the Xbox360. the graphics are amazing (smoke effect, light,...), the dolby digital sound is great !
A lot of techniques to learn in the first mission. So it may looks complicated when you start the game, but i'm sure after a few games, you'll be totally fine.
The online game is great with the possibility to play with 15 other friends (co-op or in teams).
A perfect Xbox 360 game !3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Very good game, but has a few annoying features

Summary: I don't think I've ever seen graphics that are as good as those on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The attention to detail, especially the lighting (sun in your eyes) and explosions are incredible. The sound is fantastic too. I wish I had surround sound! The added background noise is amazing, and it really enhances the realism, but occasionally I hear something and turn around because I thought someone was sneaking up on me. Pretty cool all in all.
The game is easy to navigate in terms of selecting what you would like to do- campaign, co-op, multiplayer, and everything inbetween. Gameplay is just awesome. This game is very difficult at first and it takes a little while to get good, especially online- I got annihilated for the first two hours. There are some crazy good people out there, but I quickly got better. This is the ultimate tactics game. On XBox Live the headset communication is absolutely awesome. You can coordinate with members on your team, obviously. This may sound just OK at first, but you feel so much more involved and in control. There's nothing like a dedicated, well coordinated team to obliterate the enemy.
There are tons of weapons to chose from. Picking your weapon and "class" of soldier really matters. This makes the game much more realistic. If you selected "Marksman" before the game started for an urban level and find out that it doesn't work to snipe, you're at a huge disadvantage. Especially if you switch to an M4 with a grenade attachment. You will have OK accuracy and you will carry less ammo and reload will be slower. This makes the game that much more realistic.
There are a few annoying things...
1. The controls are good for the most part, except that you can't jump or roll. The only bad part is that to crouch or lie down you must press in the left toggle stick. This is ok when you're not being attacked, but if you are suddenly attacked and you press the toggle- you crouch or lie down when you're trying to aim. Then you're dead. This might sound silly but it is very frustrating when it happens.
2. The Xbox Live is very very competitive. Very fun too. However, selecting a game to join is hard...wait...you can't actually select a game. You just get put into one, and what's worse- that game might have started already. Then you go back to searching for another one, which takes longer than it should. Connections and servers get dropped every so often too, which is a drag. -
Not as good as expected

Summary: This Ghost Recon trades in some of what I liked about the older games for flashy graphics and sound. First of all, you cannot open doors and clear rooms anymore. In fact, you really can't interact with the environment at all. Team commands are basically limited to go there and fight, go there and wait, or follow me. The graphics look good, but the contrast makes it difficult to play. I find myself using thermal image goggles in plain daylight because the screen is too dark or the enemy is too hard to see. This is especially frustrating in multiplayer.
Online play is terrible. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes between games. This is because the interface often puts you in a lobby for games that are already in progress. Also, when the players return from the match it is common for them to then kick you out of the lobby forcing you to repeat the process. Also, online play looses the only thing that made this game worth playing and thats the 'cover' options. During normal gameplay it is a lot like the game killswitch. The controls are set up to allow you to take cover easily and quickly then come out of cover to shoot or toss nades. Like I said, multiplayer doesn't have this feature. Finally, if you play multiplayer, expect a lot of spawn point camping. During team deathmatch, each team has about 3 predefined spawn points. If the opposing team makes it to your side, they will just sit at these 3 places and kill you as soon as you start. I've seen this before while playing other games online, but not this bad.
In short, the game is ultra-realistic, the graphics are great, but it really isn't that fun to play (especially online). -
Great game, excellent graphics, slightly lacking on multiplayer
by Brouillet2 on September 1, 2006
Pros: Great solo missions, excellent graphics, smooth exciting gameplay, Great music and soundFX (turn it up!!)
Cons: Needs improvement on multiplayer match finding
Summary: To date probably the best 360 game. Only Halo 3 could top this at this time.

War...done R.I.G.H.T.
by NRred2 on August 31, 2006
Pros: Realistic vision of future of war, Great gameplay, Great AI!
Cons: Control confusing at first.
Summary: I had my doubts about another Tom Clancy...but I must say that everything was done correctly here. The gameplay is nothing short of astonishing.

Graphics are perfect...everything is realistic and controls are done just right...it becomes second nature after some time. The Artificial intelligence is very smart and very good. What stands out most is this game is Tom Clancy's and Ubisofts ability to portray the future of war with minor details like drones and goggles, but nothing stupid like lazers and such. If the year wasn't 2010 players would even question that this game was a future based FPS.
The difficulty can be frustrating...but that is to be expected, especially from such a great game. The online experience is great...and most of the people seem freindly and eager to jump in. There is even some additional downloadable content available through XBL.
I had to take a point away because i am an FPS junkie and like SOCOM a bit more, but BRAVO to Ubisoft for this incredible delight! -
I wish they would take this gameplay to The Middle East
by MIB456 on August 22, 2006
Pros: Best played Multiplayer Co-Op
Cons: Why are all of these games going away from co-op multiplayer?

Summary: This game has great graphics and a wonderful one player mode. However the online play has some issues. The first major issue is that if you die you are only allowed to start in certain spots. The problem with this is that if you are playing an experienced team they will just camp out at the spots. As soon as you get back in the game they will shot you. A positive for online play is that you can let your friends play on Live with you from your 360, unlike COD2.

Frustratingly close to perfect
by XRayPhil on July 26, 2006
Pros: Awesome game! Very addictive when playing Xbox Live.
Cons: Unfortunately, as fun as it is to play online, it's equally frustrating.

Summary: Ok, I play this game daily on X-box live (because I'm addicted) and I think the game is awesome and has so much potential to be nearly perfect but it does have some issues.
Issue #1.
Ok, answer this question and I'll send you 20 bucks. On a real gun the sight is in line with the end of the barrel, therefore what you see is where you shoot. Well not in this game, if you're close to a rock and have an enemy in your crosshairs guess what you hit? The enemy? Nope, you hit the rock. Now how does that make any sense??????????? If this isn't the dumbest (and most irritating) thing I've ever experienced in a video game I don't know what is. This doesn't happen all the time but if you're close enough to a rock or wall it happens.
Issue #2.
The x-box live interface is absolute garbage. I can't tell you how many times I've read the message "connection failed" after waiting for several minuets for a game to start. This usually happens just as you enter a board from the lobby. Almost everyone on Xbox live is hip to this glitch and the host of the room pretty much always asks everyone to mute their microphones until a few seconds after the game loads. I'm not sure if the microphone has anything to do with it or not (it may be a myth) because the connection often fails anyway. I have a rock-solid cable connection that never goes down. Also, based on the fact that this happens to everyone, I KNOW it's not a problem with my connection. Whoever was in charge of designed the x-box live interface should be fired!!! Period. Which brings me to issue #3.
Issue #3.
It takes forever for Ghost Recon Xbox live interface to search for available games. It is soooooo slow that it borders on ridiculous. But what's worse is that it takes so long that when you do finally get a game list the room availability is no longer accurate. So if you try to enter a room that is a little over half full (say 7/12 players) and you try to enter the room it will either be full or the game already started.
OK HERE IS THE WORST PART OF ALL. Then when you go back you can't just simply go back to the previous room list (where you already were) and pick another game... NOOOO, that would be too easy, instead you have to wait for it to search for a totally new room list (which like I said takes forever) and roll the dice all over again. STUPID!!!
Ok, I feel better now.
Aside from that the game rocks. -
Most realistic war-type game, unbelievable graphics
by PhishDK on July 24, 2006
Pros: realistic graphics, realistic gameplay.
Cons: the only con is that online mode is so competitive, it takes awhile before you learn all the tips and tricks

Summary: Great game, most realistic shooting/war game ever created. Absolutely love this game, co-op is challenging and online play is amazing. Only complaint isn't about the game but the people who play it online. As a beginner you get killed before you have a chance to know what's going on online, there are many excellent players online and it takes awhile to pick up the different levels and styles of play, but after some practice the game becomes even more enticing.
